Most people put off making a Will, either because they think it isn't relevant at this particular time of their lives, or because they believe that their assets will automatically be inherited by the people they would wish them to.

In reality, putting off making a Will until it is too late can pose all sorts of problems for your loved ones when you're gone, and will likely mean that your inheritance either goes to the wrong people, or to the government.

Ideally, everybody should make a Will, but it is particularly important to do so if you have dependant relatives, or any type of asset that you would want to leave to relatives, friends, or charities. Making a Will lets you plan precisely what will happen to your property after your death, so that only the people you wish to benefit from it will do so. You can also plan to avoid any disputes between relatives.
